Ozapell Basic

Developer’s Description

Ozapell Basic is a programming language simple enough to teach children the basics of programming while powerful enough to develop retro-style games. The graphics environment and interface are loosely based on early 1980s color home computers. The supplied library provides enough functionality to create simple games and graphical demonstrations. The language features are designed to minimize emphasis on mathematics. Only three mathematical symbols are used when writing the source code.

Ozapell Basic was designed to be as simple as possible while providing a variety of features. Intended as an educational learning toy for teaching programming basics. It could also be fun for someone who wants to program but doesn’t want to learn a complicated modern language.

Special features include Steady 60fps performance Built-in speed limiter so programs will run at the same speed on fast or slow CPUs Ozapell Basic programs are (mostly) pre-compiled to memory and not interpreted at run-time Fullscreen and Widescreen 24-bit color 2GB memory limit (for user data)
