SnipIT

This Internet Explorer add-on has only a small bit of use, but it effectively copies text to your e-mail client.

SnipIT lacks an interface, as it merely adds items to your IE context menu. Using SnipIT means selecting text from a Web site, choosing your e-mail client from the context menu, and watching the text appear in a new e-mail. The utility can’t log you in to the client, but it will prompt you for your username and password. If you use Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, or Outlook, it flawlessly creates a new e-mail message and places your text at the top.

Of course, this isn’t anything you couldn’t do with the Windows Copy and Paste shortcuts. The difference? SnipIT adds the Web site URL to the bottom of your copied text. SnipIT doesn’t copy images or formatting, but it did keep paragraphs intact. IE users who often copy text to e-mail will find SnipIT helpful, but shortcut fans will find their other method is just as fast.
