Anyviewsoft DVD to iPad Converter is a multi-format DVD ripper. The application allows you to convert your DVD movies to a variety of formats. Of course, as the name suggests, there is support for iPad native formats, such as H.264 and MPEG-4. But it also supports audio formats.
The application also has a video editor that allows you to add effects to your video files and to crop and trim them. There is support for subtitles, which means you can choose what subtitle you want to save with your files. When you choose a subtitle file, it will be hardcoded into the video file, and you won’t be able to disable it.
I usually don’t make a big deal about the price of an application. But I have to note the $12.48 price tag on this DVD ripper. I haven’t seen many commercial DVD rippers priced this low. And this one has more features than the average ripper.
I noticed a few problems with this ripper; for example that the default destination path is D: and if you only have a C: drive and D: is your optical drive, well, then you are going to have a hard time getting this converter to work. Unless of course, you change the destination to say, the desktop. Also, although there seems to be subtitle support, I couldn’t get that feature to work.
