Rio Olympics 2016: the Summer Olympics (Jogos Olimpicos de Verao de 2016) of the XXXI Olympiad will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil during August 2016. The 2016 Olympics is the 28th edition of the Summer Games, which was first organized in 1896 in Athens, Greece. South America is hosting Olympic games for the first time in history. The Olympic games are scheduled to be from August 5 to 21, 2016. Despite being Summer Olympics, it will be for the first time to be held during actual wintertime in the host city.
