Workgroup Backup

Workgroup Backup

Workgroup BackupBacking up your home PC is important; backing up your office workgroup is essential. Workgroup Backup is specially designed to back up files from several computers onto a networked server. You can set the backup frequency and the number of versions you want to store. This is a fairly basic program, which lacks such common features as the ability to pack files or secure them with a password. Typically for freeware, Workgroup Backup suffers from a shoddy interface and a meager help file. To make up for the lack of documentation, the program dialogs are cluttered with instructions–a mixed blessing at best. Also, though Workgroup Backup is designed for network use, it doesn’t let you browse networked computers. It’s not a terrible choice for a small office on a tight budget, but some will prefer to use more polished software for this mission-critical task.
