What is a World of Warcraft: the burning crusade about?

The expansion set of the World of Warcraft titled World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade refers to the return of the burnings legion. It’s a huge army of demons and recurring antagonist forces whose forces were defeated in the battle of Warcraft iii: reign of Chaos. This Burning Legion and its allies are the antagonists of the game against whom players will have a tough fight. This expansion game includes some new areas in it, like some regions on Azeroth and the ravaged world of Outland that is under the control of the Burning Legion army and its allies

The game shows Azeroth being flooded by the ravenous demons of the Burning Legion army. The doom lord kazzak let these demons capture the place. To prevent the powerful evil army of legions from devastating the region, expeditions from Alliance and Horde passed through the gate. They were assisted by outsider reinforcements sent by their new blood elf and Draenei allies.

On outland’s desiccated peninsula, the Alliance forces found out numerous heroes who had passed through the portal years ago. At the same time, Horde came in contact with the uncorrupted orcs who weren’t involved in the race’s invasion of Azeroth. The expedition conducted by the Alliance and Horde forces dragged the two into further conflict with the army of the Burning Legion. Further incidents follow, which take the game’s storyline forward.

Gameplay

The game is styled in the form of intense battles. The expansion set has an added PvP arena system where players fight in 2vs 2 or 3 vs 3 or 5 vs 5 deathmatch-styled fights against the enemies. With the introduction of the arena system, players who don’t have The Burning Crusade expansion can take part in the skirmish matches but can’t participate in rated matches that yield rewards to the participants on a point system. The game also offers a different type of match called ladder matches. But it’s only accessible to players who have reached level 70.

Arena matches have gained importance among players. It has developed into an electronic sport. Outdoor PvP objectives are also there. Players can try to achieve the extra ones to gain more points. These objectives are different for different zones. Usually, the objectives involve capturing key points to get rewards. Rewards mostly include an increased damage boost or increased faction points while players are fighting.

Features of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade

The game’s intense and engaging, more so because of its interesting features. Without a doubt, it’s a better expansion of the original video game. Developers have enhanced the gaming experience of players by adding several new modes and challenges. Let’s talk about them in detail below.

  • Intense quests

The quests depicted in the new expansion set are usually a continuation of the original lore quests that we have seen in its preceding sequel. This means that the quest of The Burning Crusade depicts the further effects of the original World of Warcraft. However, the places where these quests take place are far more in number. Most of the quests are set in Outland.

  • New races

The expansion sequel has introduced two different playable races. Firstly, the blood elf comprises a fraction of former Alliance forces that joined the Horde later. They are commanded by the regent lord Lor’themar Theron. The capital city of this particular race is Silvermoon city. Secondly, the Draenei race comprising members of the pure order who joined the Alliance. This race is led by their prophet, velen. Exodar is the capital city of this race.

  • New spells and talents

In the latest sequel to World of Warcraft, developers added about five to six new spells that are accessible to players who have crossed level 60. The talent trees are also expanded and more powerful. Every class in the game has additional talents that comprise a 41 talent point ability. Players gain new spells at every level once they complete 60 rounds of the game.

  • Multiplayer mode available

The expanded sequel of World of Warcraft provides players with a new PvP mode, a new battleground, and many different additions. Players have access to a differently built battleground altogether. They can now summon flying mounts in the eye of the storm battleground. It’s however only accessible to players who have the expansion set.

  • Combat rating system introduced

With latest expansion set of World of Warcraft incorporates a new combat rating system too! Starting from the critical strike, defense, spell critical, hit rate, dodge stats, resilience, etc., have changed. Now, in this upgraded version, every player requires more rating points to get an advantage over enemies.

When World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade was released, critics and players felt that developers had learned their lesson from the original version. The new expansion set is varied but not overwhelming to players and new content has been introduced with precision. However, the only shortcoming that’s present in the latest edition is that newly added areas are limited and beyond the boundary, players have to switch back to older content for progressing further in the game. Players can’t get enough of this interesting game because the fun is rather short-lived. The game also introduces new dungeons and caves to be explored. The introductory video that was released before the official release of the game was received to be immensely impressive. We have already mentioned how the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade became one of the fastest-selling video games of all time. It’s fun, engaging, thrilling, and exciting.

There Is A Life beyond the world as you know it I know because I’ve just been there. But right now I’m sitting in an office in Irvine, California, and sitting opposite me is Blizzard’s creative director Chris Metzen, the man whose mind provides the motivation every time an orc raises an axe in anger. Every major nugget of Warcraft lore has passed through his hands – Frozen Thrones, Dark Portals, you name it. He’s the man who gives meaning to your daily grind. He’s also a full-on rock star wide grin, muscular build, dazzling necklace, chunky rings and Bono sunglasses. He’s the closest man to Henry Rollins the games industry has. And I’m here to hear him talk Orc. “There’s this guy called k Sargaris. He’s a fallen titan and an extremely ill-tempered dude,” begins Metzen as he cricks his neck. “Over the ages, he’s gathered an army of demons that he calls the Burning Legion and he’s set out to eradicate all life within the universe. As the Legion pass through the cosmos, they burn every world they encounter. They show up, destroy all sentient races, consume all magic, refuel and move on. Sargaris is pretty dedicated to wiping out all life and just becoming the ultimate god.

Beyond The Grind

Really? Yesterday my Night-Elf was doing some sexy dancing and killing giant lizards with a bloke from Yorkshire who was a bit worried because his dog had run off and hadn’t come back yet. I struggle to see how this affects me…

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is the first expansion set for the MMORPG World of Warcraft. It was released on January 16, 2007 at local midnight in Europe and North America, selling nearly 2.4 million copies on release day alone and making it, at the time, the fastest-selling PC game released at that point. Approximately 3.53 million copies were sold in the first month of release, including 1.9 million in North America, over 100,000 copies in Australasia, and nearly 1.6 million in Europe.

Gameplay

Two new playable races were added to World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade: the Draenei of the Alliance and the Blood Elves of the Horde. Previously, the shaman class was exclusive to the Horde faction (available to the orc, troll and tauren races), and the paladin class was exclusive to the Alliance faction (available to the human and dwarf races); with the new races, the expansion allowed players to be a Draenei shaman (Alliance), and a Blood Elf paladin (Horde). The level cap was raised by ten, making it 70 (up from 60, established in the original World of Warcraft) in addition to that; a whole new planet, Outland, was released, with associated quests, dungeons, raids, zones, creatures, and cities.

In Player versus Player (PvP), a new battleground, Eye of the Storm was introduced with two brackets: one for characters between levels 61-69, and another for level 70 characters. Although this battleground was designed for level 70 characters, players are unable to summon flying mounts in this battleground. The Eye of the Storm battleground is only available to those with the expansion.
